Whether vitamin D is really necessary for our body and whether it is possible to get it in the required quantity without risk for youth and skin beauty. Let’s try to understand.

Even in Soviet times, pediatricians recommended giving children vitamin D in order to avoid rickets and other troubles. But then, the world was still not shaking with horror at the expense of ultraviolet radiation and serenely basking in the sun in the hope of good health and beautiful skin color. Today we know more and, it seems, will never be as pleasantly frivolous as before.

Myth 1. Vitamin D does not affect the skin

This is not true. In general, vitamin D is synthesized in the skin under the influence of UV-rays. The general process of tissue aging leads to a reduction in the process itself by 75%. And this is bad, because the optimal level of this vitamin helps to increase the elasticity of the skin, stimulates the production of collagen, strengthens the healthy radiance of the skin and helps to resist the appearance of wrinkles. Moreover, it stimulates certain factors important for suppressing inflammatory processes in the tissues and is therefore necessary for the skin with acne.

Myth 2. A few minutes in the sun enough to get everything you need

Unfortunately no. In order to get the necessary amount of vitamin D for the body, you need to spend in the sun once a week for about an hour. And this is without sunscreen. The fact is that the necessary daily dose for women under 70 years is 600 IU.

Myth 3. All vitamins can be obtained with the “right” food

What we eat is extremely important for the body, but does not always fully cover its needs. The number of products containing vitamin D is not as great as we would like – fatty fish, liver, beef. Agree, there are always and many, quite problematic. Some nutritionists recommend once a day there are dairy products containing whey protein, but this is also a big question. So it is quite reasonable to pay attention to dietary supplements.  Read more https://nutritionreview.org/2016/10/new-study-uncovers-unexpected-antiaging-benefits-of-vitamin-d/

Myth 4. To combat aging, only antioxidants are needed

The fact that vitamin D – and is a full-fledged antioxidant, which is not worse (and according to some studies, and better) reduces the process of oxidation of lipids in tissues under the influence of ultraviolet rays and protects the cell membranes from destruction.

Myth 5. Vitamin D is rare in cosmetics

Not at all. It is actively used in cosmetology. For example, in the composition of anti-aging products – creams, serums, lotions and even … lipsticks (although mostly hygienic). Not the entire group of vitamins D is applied, but mostly only calciferol (D3), which is an active substance. Sometimes artificial forms of matter are used. They are good because they enhance the action of the vitamin, which is naturally produced by the body or taken in the form of foods or dietary supplements.
